Valley View is a delightful stone built terraced cottage, located in the welcoming hamlet of West Mickley, which is next to the popular village of Stocksfield, both set in wonderful Northumbrian countryside. The cottage boasts a cosy open fire, in a large inglenook fireplace. Exposed beams and views over the Tyne Valley add to its charm.

West Mickley is a short drive or train ride from nearby Stocksfield to the cosmopolitan cities of Newcastle and Gateshead, united by 7 bridges across a spectacular river scape. Must sees include a visit to the quayside, Millennium Bridge, The Sage, The Baltic Centre and the Metro Centre in Gateshead, which is the biggest shopping centre in Europe?

Corbridge, known for its quaintness and specialist shops is only 8 miles west. A further 3 miles is the market town of Hexham, steeped in history and dominated by the majestic 13 century Abbey, Hexham is well worth a visit and offers a plethora of amenities.

Ramblers and cyclists will find plenty to explore in rural Northumberland, home to one of England’s inspiring national parks and Kielder water and forest park. Walk in the Cheviot hills or Simonside hills, or see first hand the splendour of Hadrian’s Wall country, which overlaps the southern tip of the Northumberland National Park. Explore the North Pennines with their rugged uplands including some wild and wonderful scenery. Enjoy lovely forest walks and High Force, England’s largest waterfall.

Beamish museum, Vindolanda and Housteads Roman Fort museum are well worth a visit.
Venture a little further to the Northumberland coast to walk, cycle, run or even horse ride on golden sandy beaches, in the shadows of dramatic castles and romantic ruins, with traditional seaside towns and sweet little villages to visit.
Golfing enthusiasts are spoiled by the choice of first class courses within easy reach, and the local pub the Bluebell is well worth a visit.

Not forgetting the unmissable, Weardale Railway (2 for 1 voucher available !). The Weardale Railway, situated in County Durham, U.K. was a mothballed branch line from Bishop Auckland following the River Wear westwards to Eastgate-in-Weardale, a distance of approximately 18.7 miles (30km). But now gladly brought back to glorious life.

Whether you are into walking, cycling, mountain biking, water sports, birds and wildlife, fishing, touring or shopping, Valley View offers an excellent base to explore the many delights of Northumberland.
